Chuck & Theresa

Upon opening ie6, it does the "i want search, etc." which takes me to EZ
Finder. And to make matters worse, they misspell "worlds" as "wolrds".
That irritates me! So far I have tried Adware Away, Ad-aware, and Spybot.
What do I gotta do? Geez, all I want is to have Yahoo as my home page...
Sorry if this has been addressed before. New reader to the group.
Thanks in advance. Oh yeah, Flames? Can't touch me!

C & T,

You'll probably need to download and install Hijack This to handle this one.
I couldn't locate any specifics on dealing with that which you specified.

Also, just for the record: Adware Away, while not necessarily detected as a
Rogue Anti-Spyware item, has also not been given a clean "bill of health"
either (To the best of my knowledge). Best to stay with the reputable and
well established ones (Most are freeware. None of them have Adware/Spyware
in them either)
See here:

Now, moving along....

Do This First:
*Most important* - Before you try to remove spyware using any of the
following programs, realize that the process of cleaning and removing
certain spyware and malware may possibly interrupt and kill your internet
connection. Therefore, you should obtain a copy of LSPFIX, and Winsockfix
which will then make it possible for you to re-establish your internet
connection if it gets terminated.

Download LSPFIX from the following sites:
http://www.cexx.org/lspfix.htm
http://www.spychecker.com/program/lspfix.html
http://www.securitywonks.net/lspfix/lspfixindex.php

Download Winsockfix here
http://www.tacktech.com/display.cfm?ttid=257
http://www.spychecker.com/program/winsockxpfix.html (For Win2k or XP)

Then, install the respective program and then update it immediately, so that
it be the current version, and definition. **Read the Help Files and
Tutorials**.

Hijack this is a very powerful, last resort type of program which is
generally best used in conjunction with help from those who deal with the
findings of the log created by the HijackThis scan. It does nothing in the
scan itself; it merely says what is present and/or running on your PC. The
items must be checked-marked to be "cleaned". You must know *exactly* what
you are checking-off before you proceed. If you don't, you can quite
possibly disable many useful and vital functions of your PC. Remember; read
the Tutorials, and seek help at SpywareInfo Forums, Net-Integration, or
TomCoyote forums for safety's sake.

Download the .zip file and extract the contents of the .zip file to your
Hard Drive. Do not download and "install" it to a Temp folder/TIF folder/ or
Desktop. It must be in a permanent location to be able to create and restore
any back-ups (if needed to be restored at some later time)
