Installing w2k on an intel d865perlx with a pentium 4
processor has been a nightmare!
Intel states that a bios upgrade is essential but can only
be done with an operating system installed. The problem is
that I can't mange to get the OS installed
Any suggestions?
I have a very basic setup with CD reader, and one bank of
256M DDR PC400.
Any help will be greatly appreciated and allow me to keep
the little bit of my hair on my head!

What types of problems have you been having? I may be wrong, but I believe
that the Pentium 4's and therefore Pentium 4 motherboards were released well
after Windows 2000 was released. I haven't looked up this board on Intel's
web site, but I would think that any P4 board that Intel released would at
least allow Windows 2000 to install. Is this a new motherboard or one that
has been out of service for a while? Are you booting from the Windows 2000
CD when you install?
