Can anyone tell me why my IDE hard drive and my cd-roms
are identified as scsi in my device manager?

Are they on a RAID controller card? If so, this is normal.

True for either RAID or non-RAID add-in controller cards.

I didn't know that. Thanks, Bob, for the info. The only controller card I've
ever used is a RAID card.

Still waiting to hear from the OP.

Maybe you can help me with this. In System Info my cd-rw on IDE2 slave
shows as SCSI with a target 1, and the cd-r shows as SCSI target 0.
Does the target imply anything. They are not scsi devices.
