From within windows Explorer, either do a find, or navigate to Program Files, Microsoft Office, and find PowerPnt.exe, right click on the file, and drag to the desktop, and select create shortcut here when you release the mouse button. this method allows you to add a shortcut key . Or you can also go into Start | Program Files | scroll until you find PowerPoint, right click and drag to your desktop.
