I've lost sound

When I go to my volume control pannel to us sound on my computer it says that I have no active mixer devices available
I also can't pick up anything from my media library in windows media player.

Start > Run > type msconfig > Enter > Expand File > and re-install
sndvol32.exe into your c:\windows\system32. Re-boot and double click on the
loudspeaker icone in the systray, adjust the sliders as necessary.
