I am the director of Information systems for a very large company, we have
always found unique ways of dealing with large trollouts of operating system
support. Since we "choose" another solution over SMS to deliver content and
updates to our desktops (ie Tivoli), the "Microsoft genuine Software" checks
have completely hosed our automation endeavors, most notably with IE updates
while I know there are solutions around it, guess what, I'm tired of jumping
through hoops , and being called a thief by this monololithic, out of touch
company. They had better be careful , there are alternatives now to
"everything" they make. I for one am suggesting an immediate move of our
entire user base to firefox, and the next move will be to alternative OS's
completely.

I could pay for an upgrade for Tivoli, but I shouldn't have to, my version of
Software Distribution worked fine, and until Microsoft added the stupid
"Genuine" crap to their updates, all was good, I can still get around it, but
thats not my point, quit pointing fingers away from the real problem. And
thats because Microsoft doesn't understand how to treat a customer, we all
get treated like thieves. Its the same thing as having an expensive product
brought to the front of a retail store because they dont trust your to carry
it yourself, you might steal it. I'm not ranting this is a problem that
really affects many, and I will not be using any further Microsoft products.
They say here is our web browser for free, and then they want to check to see
if your goddamn operating system is geniune. I dont think so, I wont fall
prey to their scare tactics. Dont reply to my posts unless you have something
beneficial to add instead of blaming Tivoli for a problem microsoft caused by
treating their customers like thieves.

Goodbye. Have a nice time with your Firefox. I see where Firefox is
patching undisclosed security problems today.

You're missing the point - Firefox upgrades don't evoke the Windows
validation nonsense.
