I've created multiple workgroups

In experimenting with security, I have setup many different workgroups. I'm
not very familar with "workgroups" so I'm not sure if this is okay. Should I
be concerned? Thanks.
 
I would not be 'concerned' but I would certainly delete the ones tha tI
don't need.

Personally, I try to keep one "secure.mdw" for all my secured databases and
one "system.mdw" that I don't touch.

Not at all, you can have as many as you like, just be sure to leave the
default "system.mdw" alone since this is the file that Access uses to open
"unsecured" databases. Another tip is to make records of all the unique
information you enter when creating the security files and accounts therein
in case you need to re-create them.

The "system.mdw" file has not been touched. Is it correct that all my
databases are now prompting me to logon even though they are not all secured?
 
Yes. Assuming you are joined to a workgroup file that has a password
associated with the ADMIN user.

Normally, you would join the default workgroup and then use the others with
your databses by including the database file and workgroup in your shortcut.

If I were you, I'd rejoin my SYSTEM.MDW workgroup and then try to open each
file. If the file is properly secured, you will be unable to open it. If
you are able to open it without a password, then your file is not secured.

Adding a user to a workgroup does not secure the database file. There are
many other steps involved in that.
