It's very difficult to "accidently" delete the entire application and
all the documents.
If it was just the shortcut on the desktop that you deleted, check that
you can't find another starter icon in the Start/Programs/Microsoft
Office folder.
To search for the doc's, try using the Search program and search for
*.doc just in case you really didn't delete them.
Word and the documents you created are (supposed to be) in two separte
places. Very difficult, as I said, to accidently delete them.
If you truly had that accident and things are deleted, then:
- to restore Word, dig out your Office or Word CD and reinstall
- to restore the documents, get from your backup storage location. You
do take and keep backups, right?

1) Documents are *NOT* "saved within it" - they will be in the My
Documents folder.
2) Restoring it, restoring it...let's see...Sticking the CD in and
following the instructions is a tad obvious, I suppose?

It depends on what you actually deleted. If it was just the shortcut to start
Word, you should be able to restore that easily. If you deleted the Word
program, you should be able to just go into Control Panel/Add/Remove programs,
and reinstall or repair the MS office installation (you will need your install
CD).
Your documents ar normally not saved in the same place as the Word
program - by default, they are probably in "My Documents". If these are
precious to you, you should always make a backup. Never have only one copy of
anything that you can't replace easily on any single media (floppy/hard
drive/zip drive/CD/memory key/whatever) - anything that can "remember" can
also "forget".
