1. Did you find any messages about these software apps in
the XP section of the MS Knowledge Base?
2. If you seek more help here, better repost mentioning
version numbers of your XP OS and both these apps.

That is the *exact* error message?

When you say you downloaded those - do you mean you saved them locally to
your computer and are attempting to install them by double-clikcing them;
you went to the web page and tried installing from the web page; you have
themn installed but in trying to open them you get an error?

I went to webpage downloaded iTunes.Saved to desk top then installed it but
when I double click on icon it will not open. Then error message i quoted
appears and asks that a report be sent to Microsoft.Which i have done but one
does not get a direct reply I think it gives them info about faults that
occur generally.

Suggest you post your problem in the Apple Itunes forum.

*That* is the part that Shenan asked you to post!

Please, post the entire error message. You can also post any recent
error reports from Event Viewer:

Start | Control Panel | Administrative Tools | Event Viewer

If you come across a recent error, double-click on it and click on the
Copy button (upper right-hand corner below the down arrow button). Then
you will be able to paste that information in your next post.

By the way, what is the name of the installation file you downloaded to
your desktop?

Shenan the exact message for both iTunes & Quicktime say "iT & QT have
encountered a problem & have to close.Tell Microsoft about this " and one has
option of sending an error report but there is no direct reply to it from
MS.The programme is installed but I'm damned if I can open it.
