in ordfer to play a filmclip, i had to download the software that created it
(itunes). After installing the downloaded software (itunes) it has taken over
Media Player and plays all my mp3s. Me being computer illiterate i dont know
how to change it back to Media Player? A simple solution maybe? Any help
would be much appreciated.

iTunes aggressively takes over control of media extensions. Unless they
have fixed this behaviour recently, you can only avoid this by not using
it. You can go into WMP's Options dialog to reclaim ownership of desired
file extensions.

Open your <tools> in the wmp and re-check the< file types> to make wmp your
default player for theses types of files.
Also, you can download "WinPatrol" for free at www.winpatrol.com and this
program will warn you when any type of file change is being made and gives
you the choice of accepting or denying. Good Luck!
