Welcome to the wonderful world of Apple DRM. You'll need to enter your
Apple ID and password, as far as the DRM is considered you're on a new
computer.

Well, that's anybody's DRM. Windows Media Player automatically handles the
DRM for WMV for most users so you don't see it. iTunes doesn't. But DRM is
just a broken system all around. I suggest buying CDs - they're cheap and
arrive fast from Amazon - and ripping to MP3. Avoid the DRM wherever
possible.

Besides, you'll discover a whole lot of wonderful music by your favorite
artists when you buy more than the top 40 tunes :)

I just turn on the radio.

I didn't have a problem with mine... itunes and music from the itunes
store worked just fine. There is a fix on apple's site, I didn't need
it though.

I've heard that MS has put stronger DRM restrictions on Vista my advice..

These aren't Microsoft's DRM restrictions. This is Apple's "FairPlay" (how
ironic) which is imbedded in iTunes, and the music brought from iTunes.

If the OP reinstalled Windows XP, or any other operating system the same
thing would happen.

I've not experienced any Itune problems with Vista; that includes Betas from
7/05 to what they put on the street last week.

Hi,

After replacing a CPU under Vista I had also a problem with ITunes (same
one). The resolution was to I remove all traces of i Tunes from the
computer incl. Registry entries. Then restart and clean new install. Works
perfect again.

I can't update my granddaughters' iPods on my Vista PC. I'm not worried
about it. I have other resources to do it on for now and there's zero doubt
that Apple will fix it soon.
