I just downloaded and installed the beta Antispyware from the MS website.
Every time I run it the program tells me to insert a CD so it can install
ItsDeductible Express. I don't have a CD of course since this was a download;
then it gets into a loop where it keeps trying to install this thing. What's
the deal with this? And how do I get a clean copy of MS AntiSpyware?

You can get the Windows Installer Cleanup tool:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;290301

Install this, run it, and look for something which is the application
represented by the prompt you are seeing. You can then remove the installer
information for this app, and that will remove the message.

I would then uninstall the cleanup tool--it shouldn't be needed on any
routine basis, and there's some risk to leaving it around.

Good luck

Thanks for the suggestion, it seemed to take care of the problem. This is the
first time I've seen this sort of thing.

No Prºblem,
Thanks for letting us know you was able to remove it using Windows Installer
Cleanup tool:

Glad Engel was able to help you get this fixed. This issue happens with
other apps--notably some Adobe Reader versions. It can be quite
annoying--but it is an issue with the installer, rather than the application
itself. This behavior won't carry through to beta2--and there's a new
statement suggesting that beta2 may be available in the first quarter of
2006, which would be great.
