I suspect that you were using the built-in Administrator account for
your daily work, which isn't recommended. Then when you made a new user
account with administrative privileges, the built-in Administrator
account was hidden. This is by design.

If this sounds like your case, first make a third user account. Call it
whatever you like (it's unclear whether the new account you already
made is for your own use or someone else's). Log into it. Now you'll be
able to copy the Administrator account to your new account. If you have
XP Home, you'll need to log into Safe Mode. If you have XP Pro, you
don't need to be in Safe Mode.

Were you using the built in administrator account? If so when a new
account is made that one automatically gets hidden. It is not a good
idea to use the built in administrator account for day to day
activities. It should be kept as a backup in case something corrupts
the normal account you use.

To access the built in administrator account for XP Pro at the login or
welcome screen press ctrl-alt-del twice and type in the account name and
password. For Home boot into safe mode.

To get into safe mode restart the computer, and just as the BIOS screen
disappears repeatedly tap the F8 key until the Advanced Options menu
appears then choose safe mode.

Copy the important information from the built in administrator account
that you have been using to a new account and use that.
