Items Disappear between Design and Preview

Susan, aka Den Mother

Although I've been designing webpages for several years now I still consider
myself a novice. Lately i've been noticing that when I edit a webpage my
last edit doesn't appear on the Preview. The only way I get it to show up is
to put in a very small text (usually ...) and blend it with the background;
then my last edit will appear.

This has been very frustrating and time consuming. Any help will be very
much appreciated.
