It won't automatically checking for e-mails

Grrr...I have checked the box in the tools...options...general tab for
windows to automatically check for e-mails at start-up. But it won't do it,
nor will it check for new e-mails every 15 minutes like I set it as. Any
suggestions? Getting tired of having to hit the send/receive button every
time I open up my mail. Thank you for any help you may have.

That's a new one. Try removing the account, closing and reopening WinMail
and then add the account back again. I suspect its something else though.
What else is running in the background?

Also make sure that in the properties for the individual accounts
there is a check mark in the box for "Include this account when
receiving..."
