that wasnt the thing that was making it quit and im getting frustrated, and mp3s work fine, but its usually when i try to resize them and make them smaller or try to watch what i have so far that it quits.

OK, What was the thing that was making it quit? I need a lot more
information before I can offer a solution.
If you check the messages in here for around one week you will find quite a
few people with problems after they have added the second MP3 to their
project.
When you refer to resizing them, do you mean cutting off the beginning or
end of a clip (creating a small clip) Other than the mentioned function and
the ability of movie maker to create a video that is smaller in size than
the original (width x height) Movie Maker can not do a resize
If you are cutting off a section of the original MPeg or MP3 within movie
maker, that's exactly where Movie Maker will crash with these file formats.
Converting them to safe options (WAV and AVI for example) almost always
solves the issue.
