Hi,
it seems Windows Antispyware doesn't run on startup even if i told it to do
so...
The Tray Icon appears only if i run the program manually (i haven't checked
the "Hide Tray Icon" in option menu).
Can anyone tell me something about?
I say this also because Lavasoft finds some Spywares even if WAS'd be up and
running.
Best regards

You are probably hitting an XP bug to do with tray icons. To test this, do
a log out and log in, and see if the icon appears. If this is the case, you
should be protected, even without the icon showing.

Lavasoft is detecting cookies which Windows Antispyware does not scan for or
interdict in any way.

Hi Bill and thanks for the answer.
If i log out and log in again in windows (i don't know if you were meaning
this) the Icon doesn't appear. But if i run the Antispyware, the icon appear.
If i log out the spyware, the icon disappear and i receive the message that
without running the spyware, also realtime protection doesn't function.
So i think there is a problem in the software... anyway it should be normal
seeing that it's not a definitive version.
Bye bye,
Luca

Are you running purchased version of Adaware and are you running Ad-watch?
Ad-watch stopped MSAS from loading on my machine.

This doesn't sound good.

I think what I'd do in this situation is:

Uninstall Microsoft Antispyware.

Delete the \program files\microsoft antispyware folder and all subfolders.
You will lose access to all quarantined items, history, and customized
settings.

Reinstall Microsoft Antispyware (make sure it is the current .615
version)--ideally from a fresh download--and make sure you are logged in as
the administrator user who will typically use the machine.

Hi Dave,
no i'm not running Adaware... and i'm not running Ad-watch. I've them but
i've not installed on startup... I'll try to uninstall and reinstall again as
Bill said...
Thanks to both!

Hi Bill,
i just did as you adviced and now all system are "GO"!
I wonder why this strange thing has happened...
Anyway, thank you very much.
Regards,
Luca

Glad to hear it. My guess about what this procedure fixes is that something
in one or more of the .GCD files in the install folder is corrupted. I'm
relieved that this worked for you, because I really didn't have a good model
for why such a corruption would cause your symptoms--it was just something
to try.

You're welcome!

No, It don't sound too good. It should be in the system's Tray. I dont know
if it should move during background operation. I have another program that
is in the Tray, and when activated, it moves, turns round and round. I have
the Beta version.
