i have recently published my site to www.will3.com and i have activated the
servers etc. in fact i had a site running at that very address for about a
month. when i went to publish an updated version of the site, everything went
as normal but then when i logged on to check the site it said "forbidden" and
i'm like...why?

could be something simple like you have no index page...or your site is
totally wiped out.
the web doesn't appear to have FP extensions installed either.

Contact your host.

i'll definitely check that out. i defo have an index page but i renamed it to
"home" so i'll try renaming it back to index. also...what's an FP extension
please? im sure i have them because my site is hosted by my cousin and he's a
computer genius. plus, www.will3.com HAS worked before.

BRILLIANT!!! that solved it mate thanks! all i had to do was rename my
homepage to "index!" unbelievable how simple things are sometimes. thankyou,
rob!

there is no 'home.htm' unless you have your host add it specially as your
available index or default pages. usually Apache will use index.htm or
index.html you can have the page title be Home but the name of the file will
be one of the index options.

My troubleshooting motto: Check the stupid stuff first. (this is what I tell
myself...not meaning you)

Interesting layout!

FrontPage extensions allow you to Publish (rather than ftp files) your web
from a local copy on your hd. They also allow you to edit your web "live" on
the server (visually)...and a use simple forms,...and lots of other stuff.

haha cool mate. wots ur email address btw i'd like us to stay in touch. you
seem like a handy guy to have around in an internet crisis, spesh if you're
the kind of guy that stays up all nite like muggins here...

i dont stay up as much as when i had sleep apnea...but Im around a
lot..perhaps too much.

my listed em works just remove the invalid and add com...but to get by my
email rules you have to put FPNG in the subject line.

ps.
Optimize and resize the images in your history gallery some are physically
to big to be viewed within the frame and the file sizes are too big...your
cousins server must be a tad slow too...but optimizing the images should
help a lot.

download IrFanview its freebie and a great program for optimizing, resizing,
etc.
