Issues with RDP Connection - FIX

Hey guys,

I have posted an issue in this forum several times, specifically
relating to random success in connecting to workstations using the rdp
client (slowness every 4 or 5 connections - "slowness" = slow response
from keyboard/mouse). The typical remedy is to make sure you always
log off to end a session (no disconnect) and to throw a reboot on the
machine for good measure.

Well, we went to Microsoft and they gave us a fix for it - Q811080. It
is not published yet, so you will need support from MS to get it. But
it works! I have not had to deal with the slowness since loading it
(and I was getting the issue at least twice a week!) and it has been
at least 3 weeks!

Good luck!

Thanks for the post.

For those reading, here's the article:

If you read carefully, the most likely scenario in which this will be seen
is a corporate desktop with the Microsoft Systems Management (SMS)
Inventory client installed.

There may be others as well, but this is probably the primary situation
where this fix will be applicable.

Anyone can request the hotfix for free.. The support engineers are
supposed to cancel any charges for these types of fixes...

After the release of SP2, this fix shouldn't be necessary as it is
included...
