Issues With Network

I have a Windows 2000 Professional Desktop and a Windows
98 laptop, and i can't get them to network using a
standard network cable, but if i use a friends hub it
work's fine?


Any hints?
 
You need a crossover cable to hook two PCs together. A hub or switch
provides the crossover automaticaly.
