I have been trying to repair or re-install IE6, as I can't open
shortcuts that have web sites or e-mails that have web sites embedded. I
tried downloading IE6 from Microsoft, but it prompts that I have a newer
version, then terminates. I can't reload it from my Windows XP CD, as it
can't find AUUPDATE.EXE - and the ADD/REMOVE feature prompts the same
message. Somehow, I removed Outlook Express, too. Microsoft has
instructions on modifying the registry to be able to download IE6 and
Outlook Express, but the instructions seem to be incomplete, as I can't find
the ISINSTALL command.
I'm pretty certain that IE6 is corrupt, and I figure that since I did not
select Outlook Express as a program I wanted to take from the disk, that it
just deleted the application. Microsoft sure makes it difficult to put
programs back in place.
I would appreciate help on these items.
Thanks,
Charles
