Issue with Selected Text Colour

I'm working with some of our company executives here and none of us can
figure this out.
They are working on a slide in PowerPoint where the background is navy and
the text is white. When they select the white text within the text box, it
is highlited in white so all you see is a white block...you can't see the
text to be edited even though it is still there.

You can make changes, but you are blind to it while you are making the
changes because all you can see is white.
Can you help?

Can you add the version of PPT in your next post. (I'm guessing not 2007)

First step is to go to design pane > color schemes > edit color scheme.
Check that the color set for Background and Text actually is Navy and white.
If not double click the color square and try changing it.

See if that helps

Ppt 2007

I don't have a problem with this at all. When I highlight the text that is
needed to be changed, I find that there is a square box around the text,
backgroung then becomes temporarily slightly lighter navy colour.Quite
visible and easy to alter in 2007 when highlighted.
Perhaps I am misunderstanding your question? A newbie.

Thanks John. I'll give this a shot. I neglected to check the version of PPT
but it's running a Windows 2000 box, so I'm assuming Office XP or earlier by
the looks of it.
I'll keep you posted on the progress.
Thanks again! :)

PPT 2007 handles this differently than previous versions, Maureen. That's
why it seems different to you.

Thanks for that. When I read the other responses I did feel bit of a fool!
Still being a relative newbie and not having been around on this site since
mid July, I thought I would try to be clever ;-)

By the way I have just read the thread about Australian Thanksgiving and
thought it was so funny. Certainly lightens thinks up if you are feeling a
little bit over awed with PowerPoint.I read all the postings even though I
don't know what half of them mean, perhaps a little bit of the information I
read about may just come to the front when needed.

Now I have to remember how I managed to accomplished what I had been able to
achieve prior to mid July when my world appeared to go upside down (not in
Australia HA HA) with health problems.Think it's old age and poverty ! !
Love this group.
Echo thanks again for response.

Oh, no worries, and no need to feel foolish -- if you haven't seen the
issue, there's no easy way to really imagine it.

That's exactly how I started learning PowerPoint!

Glad you're enjoying yourself here and back on your feet in real life.
