Hi all,

Has anyone ever had the issue of Windows Media Player
opening when clicking on an imported sound file within
PowerPoint XP? I have imported a sound file (.wav) into my
presentation and while in slide show view, I can click the
little audio icon and have the file play no problem.
However, when one of my users clicks on the file in the
slide show view, the Windows Media Player "skin" opens and
then the sound plays. Is there anything she can do so that
the sound can just play without Windows Media Player
opening? I would appreciate anyone's knowledge about this.

Thanks,
Lauren

If you used an action button to insert your sound this will happen. If you used the insert sound from a file this shouldn't happen. Also check the size of the sound file if it is greater that 100 KB it might be linked. In the options menu you should be able to raise that value so your sound is embeded however you must use the insert sound and not an action button.
