Hello

I am using Outlook 2007 and finding it impossible to save an .oft file with
an email address in the From field. I'll save an address in the From field,
save the .oft file, then reopen to discover that the From field is now blank.

The To field does not have this problem so I suspect this is by design and
not just something I am overlooking.

Does anyone have any information on this? Thanks in advance.

The From field has nothing to do with how a message is sent - why do you believe it is necessary to fill in that field?

I haven't tried it with the from field but I do it with accounts selected -
so its possible the field is cleared and replaced by the acct's from field.

Thanks for the response. I think I need to elaborate more on what I'm trying
to do.

I'm trying to create an email template for our corporate sharepoint site.
Agents will access the template and send it to a client. However due to
security factors this email they send needs to be sent from a certain email
address, which the template does not retain once it is opened. Of course,
they can manually select the email address that it will be sent from but this
leaves room for human error.

So, I'll create the template with everything it needs, add the email address
that it should be sent from, then save it. Once it is opened the From field
is blank.

Outlook 2003 did not have this problem. I'm hoping someone can either offer
a solution or confirm that this is by design and cannot be changed.
