Jim

After installing the beta my computer would boot very slow.
And would be 100% CPU for the first 5 minutes after loggin
on. But after that it appeared to work fine.

I updated the software over the weekend (by clicking on
file -> update). It appeared to work but but found no new
issues.

After I rebooted my Windows 2000 computer would just boot
to a blue screen and they try rebooting again. I tried to
boot in Safe mode with the same issue.

I had spend serveral hours using another computer trying
to create a suitable boot CD for my computer. Very little
support from Microsoft on how to create a Boot CD (booting
to the command prompt). Once I was able to boot the
command prompt it appeared everything was in order. I
tried re-booting again and it worked.

ALthough while the Antispyware software was installed my
computer was always at 100% cpu usage.

Needless to say I removed software and await the non-beta
version.

Thanks for the report, and sorry it was so tough on you! It is possible
that there may be a later beta build issued at some point in the beta, so
you might want to re-check at that time.

I was surprised to find this posting - I thought I was
all alone after searching for a posting with the
same/similar issue.

I have an IBM ThinkPad 600X running XP SP2. I use EZ Anti-
Virus from CA and Ad-Aware from Lavasoft. I installed the
Antispyware app, and *immediately* noticed a system
slowdown. Let me put it this way: I went from a roughly
30-45 second boot to a 2+ minute boot time. This behavior
has continued even after uninstalling the application.
There was also a considerable amount of CPU usage when
entering the desktop environment after a boot or reboot.

I will confess that I did not use the Control Panel to
uninstall. Instead I used the uninstall link in the Start
Menu folder for the application. Is there a benefit to
reinstalling and uninstalling via Control Panel? Or are
there Registry hooks I can remove? It's times like this I
wish I had System Restore turned on.
Thanks,
Chris

The link you used to uninstall should be the same as doing it via Control
panel, add or remove programs.
They are slightly different--or at least when I initiate an uninstall by
both methods I get slightly different prompts, but the end result should be
the same, I believe.

Performance issues are a focus of this beta. As you can see from your
search, relatively few users see this kind of issue--you've counted two out
of over 3 million downloads.

I hope you'll consider re-trying when another beta is released. That won't
tell us whether you hit a one time issue, or one that was fixed, but at
least it'd give you a chance to see what the product can do for you.
