Clear/Mirrored Window

When navigating throught the internet and a new window is
opened, it's as though the window is clear. Meaning I can
see the information on the window behind the newly opened
window. Like a mirror image. I've downloaded all patches
and updates. Still no luck.

For instance if I go to autotrader.com and want to see an
enlarged picture of a car, when a new window is created to
display the larger image, it's as thought he new window is
clear becuase I can see the info behind it....

I have a newer 2.5 Mhz, HP PC and am useing WinXP multi
medica edition.

This is so frustrating I've started using Netscape as a
browser.

Help!

I am having this same problem! Has anyone sent you any
email telling you how to resolve it?

I have been putting up with this for 2 weeks now! I have
everything up to date! It's unbearable!

Thanks,

Patrick

It's a corrupt file "oleaut.dll". Find it, move it
somewhere else and see if that works. I do not know if it
effects anything else in the system but 3 hours with a MS
tech in India helped me cure that same problem by doing
this.

1. Click [Start] [Run] type:
(Press Enter after each command)
Regsvr32 /i URLMON.DLL
Regsvr32 actxprxy.dll
Regsvr32 shdocvw.dll

2. Restart Windows
3. Open IE [Tools] [nternet Options] [Programs] [Reset Web Settings]

If this does not help, run this fix: Based on MSKB article:
http://www.angelfire.com/dragon/sramesh2k/utils/IEFix.exe

Manual procedure: (Microsoft Knowledge article link)

The file is actually called oleaut32.dll. Use the System Configuration
Utility (Win 98SE) to extract a fresh copy and to make a backup copy
of the presumed corrupt file. This solution worked for me, and none
of the others discussed on this thread did. Thank you very much.

This didn't work for me (Win98SE; IE 6.0), but another poster
suggested that the file ole.dll was corrupt. The file is actually
called oleaut32.dll. I used the System File checker to extract a
fresh copy from the CABS to \windows\system, and to create a backup
file as I did this, just in case. I then allowed Windows to restart
the computer when it asked to, and this solved the problem. YMMV -
good luck.
