Hi,

When my dial-up connection disconnects automatically, it most of the times doesn't disappear from the taskbar... I mean, tht tv icon still shows connected and doesnt rather show : 'link to xxx failed. reconnect pending' dialog box. I've to manually dc the status window from the taskbar, and then reconnect it.

what's the resolution of this weird problem?

UNTICK [Disconnect when connectn may no longer be needed]
([Internet Properties]>[Connectn] tab>[Settings] Dial-up & VPN>
[Advanced] in Dial-up settings)
CLEAR cookies
([Tools]>[Clear cookies] General tab>[OK] confirm>[OK] out)
REBOOT
TICK [Disconnect when connection may no longer be needed]

Now, the Dial-Up Internet Disconnection dialogue box returns to its rightful
appearance whenever any (last) window programme requiring an internet
connection is closed.
