I have my own ISP serving 150 customers in a radius of
about 1 mile of area.
Right now i am using coaxial cables and CAT5s and Hubs in
my network. I am tired of coillisions and cable breaks,
specially in rainy seasons. I am looking for a cheap
wireless solution. Anyway i can have a trasmitter at my
ISP, and receiver at customer's end? I dont cover a big
area, its a matter of about 1 mile and thats it.
Wireless receiver/transmiter should be able to connect to
customers LAN card.
Anyone out there knows about cheap solutions to this
problem? And how much can it cost approx in US $?
How much will additional connection cost to a new customer
in my network?
Thanks a lot.

Depending on what you're doing there are plenty of wireless solutions
available. Point to multi point systems can run up the dollars
though, so it depends greatly on performance desires, bandwidth
allocation and the like. All the top networking players seem to be in
this, Cisco for example has a whole business for this:

The Aironet products seem to be most popular for this type of
application.

Google will find you more options as well.

No, I am not looking for securities. Its basically a LAN
network. All machines can see each other as it is with
hubs and CAT5s. Can i have a point to point for all 150
customers? Basically a CAT5 comes out of my server and
then ahead everything is connected using cables and hubs.
I havnt used wireless technology yet and dont know
anything about it. I looked for this technology on google,
but everywhere i could see frequency in specifications. No
range displayed. Little confused.
Please suggest.
Thanks.

I don't understand that comment, can you explain what you mean?

I'm not sure why all 150 customers have to see each other, that's not
a normal ISP operation. And the answer is yes.

Ah, I see. Then you first better do a lot more research and some
testing.

I suggested Cisco's options as a starting point. But I'm not sure
you're ready to understand their offerings. You might want to call a
consultant in wireless deployment to help you with this.
