Karoo? Hull?

Their time as a going concern is limited I feel :)
Unfortunately the citizens of Hull have little choice....Karoo have a near monopoly as the ISP for Hull....KCOM exclusively run the telephone lines (there is no BT etc) and although KCom do have a Wholesale/LLU system in place other ISPs are reluctant to fork out for little return as Karoo's prices are cheap, so other ISP's didn't think enough people would switch. Also the KCOM exchange equipment is incompatible with BT's, so ISP's would have to make a special investment just for Hull. It's a long term historical problem in that Hull telephones have always had incompatible equipment so that they couldn't be nationalised and merged with the Post Office.

Yes, I did make a presumption there, it was only after going back and re-reading the story I noticed the ISP has a near monopoly.

That is a damned shame.

Did you all know Hull is officially the poorest place in England?

Nothing like rubbing their noses in it eh.

As much as I know theft of intellectual property is crime and to my mind is morally wrong I disaprove of private companies taking the law into their own hands and imposing their own high-handed views on a captive customer base.

The citizens of Hull should have a choice.
