Unfortunately the citizens of Hull have little choice....Karoo have a near monopoly as the ISP for Hull....KCOM exclusively run the telephone lines (there is no BT etc) and although KCom do have a Wholesale/LLU system in place other ISPs are reluctant to fork out for little return as Karoo's prices are cheap, so other ISP's didn't think enough people would switch. Also the KCOM exchange equipment is incompatible with BT's, so ISP's would have to make a special investment just for Hull. It's a long term historical problem in that Hull telephones have always had incompatible equipment so that they couldn't be nationalised and merged with the Post Office.floppybootstomp said:Karoo?
