Outlook will no longer remember my Earthlink account password. I have
deleted and remade the account and it tests fine. However, when I
open Outlook it always pops up the dialog box asking for my password.
This does not happen with other e-mail clients. I have run the repair
utility for Outlook from the application and the Office CD. I am
using Windows XP Home, and I am the administrator and only user of
this computer.

Thanks Roady,
I followed the instructions in the Microsoft Knowledge Base Article -
264672 for Windows XP. But Outlook continues to "forget" password
even after resetting it. I wish I could pinpoint the exact time this
problem started, as it may have been after a software installation or
Windows Update.

I just posted this problem today (2-5-04) and used the
below links as a fix. It wasn't a total fix though. I
still have to enter my password when Outlook 2002 starts
up but at least I don't have to enter it every time it
checks e-mail.

However! I would like to just be able to click on the
Outlook icon, get e-mail, and not have to babysit it at
all. It's showing my password as saved with the *** and
all but I know better. LOL
