Isolate code to compose page only

I have a custom form with both compose and read pages. I have some code that
runs to hide certain pages of a multipage control unless a click event
changes it's visible property. This all works fine, but I would like the read
page to display all pages when it is opened by the recipient.
Is there a way to isolate what code runs on what page ( compose or read ) ?
