I have some iso bootable images from http://netbsd.org that I need to burn
to the CD-RW in my Sony Vaio laptop with win2k sp4. I have the Adaptec
DirectCD software which doesn't seem to be able to write the bootable iso
image except as an ordinary file.

The rawrite2.exe program only writes to a floppy. How can I burn this
bootable iso image to CD in win2k please?

You might try the support site here.

| That site sells software. Am I led to believe that win2000 is unable to
burn
| the raw iso image to CD w/o additional software to address the device?

Thanks for the information, but it's a pretty lame OS that can't write to a
native device without 3rd-party software. It's just one additional reason of
several why I'm moving to http://netbsd.org
and dumping MS.

Nothing lame about it. Windows 2000 doesn't write to CD's because a CD
writer is NOT a native device. Sheesh!

These CD writers were hardly even in existence when Windows 2000 was
released, rest assured some new fandangle invention will replace these
and then XP also wont be able to write to these new writable popcorn
devices.
