Isn't Adaware SE or Spybot Search & Destroy enough?

Ad-aware and Spybot will detect and remove spyware, but
will not prevent it from reinstalling on your computer.
Thus, every time you run a scan with those programs, the
programs they delete will find themselves back on your
computer in no time.

Have you tried the Immunize functionality in Spybot S&D?
Although after reading the Spybot's Help it looks not as complex as offered
by MSAntiSpyware.
