ISEARCH is not being picked-up by the most recent update.
Could someone let me know if they are having the same
problem.

David,

Yes, I had the same problem. MS-AS didn't find it. Spybot S&D found it but
couldn't remove it. I got rid of it by searching the Registry and removing
every instance of "isearch" (with "), the searching for all files and
folders containing "isearch." That did it.

This was on my son's laptop which was loaded with spyware. He is home from
school and I used Ad-Aware, Spybot and MS-AS and found dozens of things to
remove. iSearch and midaddle were the only things that couldn't be removed
by one of the three programs.

Please try to use Tools, Suspected Spyware Report to report from such
machines with stuff that is resistant to removal.

Another technique which may help is to do scans in Safe Mode--this is
helpful with any of the antispyware products.

Bill,

Actually, I tried twice to use the built-in AS tool, as you suggested. In
both cases, when I clicked Submit, I got an error message telling me to
check my proxy settings, and the "send" did not complete. I don't have any
proxy settings. I connect via Comcast Cable using dynamic IP addressing.
AS had no trouble connecting to SpyNet after I ran the scan.

Good idea about scanning in Safe Mode. Thanks for that tip.

I've heard very few reports of success with the reporting tool in these
groups. I've had no trouble with it myself, so I don't know what breaks it.
I do know that the error message is relatively useless!
