ise32 Properties

Hi,

I recently juz upgraded my home system to vista service pack 1 via the
installation package downloaded from the MS website.

I'm currently using Vista Biz Edition.

I noticed that after the installation, i'll get a pop up box informing of a
problem with ise32 properties. Asking my permission to restore this file. I
find it v weird, I cancelled the operation. As its a brand new system, I
decided to reinstall and this time, in an offline mode. I still get the same
thingy after installing SP1.

I searched online and found out that this is a virus. The issue is, how did
i get the virus when i did not even go online? The SP1 installation pack was
saved into my thumbdrive which appears to be clean as per norton scanning
results by Norton Antivirus.

Hope someone can assist me in this.

You HAD to go online to get the update, for one. You got the virus by
downloading something else that you haven't mentioned.

Your best bet since it's a new system is to restore it to factory-new
condition and start over with a clean system. Format the thumb drive
while you're at it.

Thank you for your reply.

I did the reinstallation twice and the thumbdrive was clean.

The copy of Vista SP 1 was downloaded using another computer. This was why I
cant figure out why I've gotten the virus.

Then the virus came FROM THAT COMPUTER.

How old is your computer? Have you done much with it yet? Would it
be a horrible inconvenience for you to restore to factory-new
condition??
 
Hi Nonny,

It's a DIY set, thus it doesn't have a factory condition.

It is not difficult to spend an hour or 2 to reinstall the whole thing but
the issue is, I've already reformatted the thing and installed it twice but
the same problem returns.

Problem shouldn't be from the other computer becos It's running on Vista SP1
now and its running fine w/o error. Scanned it with my norton as well, it's
clean. It was upgraded to SP1 using the same installation pack I downloaded
from MS.

Maybe I should juz reformat and reinstall for the 3rd time with a fresh SP1
pack from MS.

But still, it'll be good if I can know the cause, hope someone can help me.
At least something is being learnt.
