I believe I know what the issue is but it'd be great if someone could give me
the recent solution to the issue. I saw some posts on it but they were dated
back to 2005 :S

I was cleaning off my computer with a few pieces of antivirus and spyware
software. and it got rid of a lot of problems (practically all of them). The
only recurring problem I was having at that point (aka a couple minutes ago)
was that AVG could not remove or vault the "backdoor.Ntrootkit" virus (?). I
followed the path (C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\Winck54.sys) but when I got to
the drivers folder and tried to erase it, it wouldn't work, I couldn't even
rename it, move it, and it wasn't set to read-only. Also during this, my
screen would go to a blue screen every like 10 minutes and start restarting
the computer. I would press enter on the keyboard and it would go right back
to Windows and whatever I was doing was still there.

So I updated my AVG to 8.0 and it had my restart the computer. Now I can't
get back in. Right before it brings up the page where you click on your
profile to get in, it says:

isass.exe - System Error
The endpoint forma is invalid.

I looked up the isass.exe and I keep coming across Sasser worm so I'm
assuming that's what it is. I wanted to try System Restore but I can't get in
Windows to even use it and it probably wouldn't work anyway. I have a USB key
so is there a removal tool that I can upload onto it to take care of this
problem? Thanks in advance!

Okay, update. Yes, it's been like 10 minutes :P I did last known
configuration and was able to get into the computer. Then I went to system
restore but there were only ones for today (btw, is there a way to schedule
those system restores or do I have to do it manually every time?) so I didn't
do any. The computer's behaving pretty well though I'm reluctant to turn it
off at this point.

Is this isass.exe error a worm that I need to take care of or was it just a
fluke and I can breathe a sigh of relief? Thanks!

Yes it is a virus/worm and you need to get rid of it. Try one of the
online antivirus scanning sites such has
