Is it recommended to have DNS on the ISA server? and will
it cause any security issues?
Not really recommended. You want ISA to be your entry point protection for
your network. Putting any other services on it can compromise (not saying it
will) it's effectiveness. Besides, wtih the dual NICs in ISA, it complicates
the DNS config and can cause issues. Now I know SBS 2000 and SBS 2003 allow
it, but then that's an all-in-one package and requires a bit of tweaking,
especially since DNS and AD are on the same machine. But all in all, I
wouldn't recommend it.
