Hello,

I have ~ 150 users connected to ISA server running on windows 2k and I
would like to limit the speed to each user via it's virtual IP ( for
example 56k, 64 etc) I am using a leased line as upload stream and
satellite dish as download. Can ISA do this task (if yes can I know
how) or is there a third party software that I can use.

Thanks

ISA Server allows you to limit bandwidth using Bandwidth Rules and
Bandwidth Priorities. You can apply Bandwidth Rules to Client Address
Sets, Users and Groups, or Any Request. The Bandwidth Priority can be any
number between 1 and 200 with higher numbers receiving higher priority.
See the ISA Server help files for more info.

Thank you for the reply, but I wanna do is for example I have 512K I
wanna dedicate 128K for the CEO using his IP, 64K for each departement
manager and the rest 256 for all users

ISA bandwidth rules are more dynamic than that, they use priorities instead
of allocating fixed slices of bandwidth. What you can do in ISA is set the
effective bandwidth (512K in your case), create three sets of bandwidth
priorities, highest priority, middle priority and least priority. Then you
can assign each group\user or client address set to the proper priority
with bandwidth rules. This way the CEO can have first dibs on the
available bandwidth, the managers have priority over what is left with
users having the least priority.
