Is Wscript .exe a virus???

I was looking in my taskmanger today and I noticed this
file named Wscript.exe and using a mem usage of 4,388k I
never noticed this Image name is this a virus? if so how
would I remove it, and if this is a required system file
what does it do script for windows?
