Flush and fill, ME is not qualifing for Upgrade to Windows 2000 and was
released after it.

Yeah .. it's pretty simple. Just follow these steps.

1. Backup all your data.
2. Download Win2K drivers for your chipset and any PCI/AGP cards.
3. Locate all your original program CDs.
4. Format your hard drive.
5. Boot from your Win2K CD and follow the bouncing ball.
6. Install your drivers.
7. Install all your programs from their original CDs.
8. Update to SP4
9. Install W2K End-Of-Life rollup.

Enjoy your new and stable O/S.

There ain't no upgrade path from ME to 2K.

What is the least worse Windows OS which still have MSDOS embedded?

I'm interested in W2000 because a lot of 'new'software requires/demand it.
And then they come with a list,

W2000 or WXP or XP Sp2.

So I was/am thinking that W2000 is Windows on a 'higher' level than ME.

Is it possible to choose between FAT32 and NT with W2000?

TIA.

W.

Windows 98 SE. Windows ME uses emulation when running DOS program, but
it can run many DOS programs. Windows 2000 can also run many DOS
programs on WOW emulation. Verify with the software vendor for
specifics on running their DOS programs on Windows 2000. DOS programs
running under WOW might consume lots of CPU!
