Hi

I have 2 computers A & B . A is connected to the internet. B is networked to
the A.

I don't care too much about the computer A that is directly connected to
the net and regually open entertaining attachment from friends on this
computer.

As I program on computer B I very much care about this computer. I share
files between both computers

If Computer A gets hacked . Can they gain access to my second computer.

All I use is the XP firewall...

Cheers Possum..

Most certainly any computers sharing files on the same network will be
compromised if you install network-aware malware. You should make sure
you aren't sharing any resources. Get a router, stop sharing anything
between the two computers, and consider opening your "entertaining
attachment" from a Linux box instead. Or take Computer B off the network
completely.

That's nowhere enough protection for your situation.
But you don't indicate any other info that might bring
forth well targetted data.
