is it possible to link to a particlar layer within a webpage...and not just
the page entire page??

thanks for any help you can give.

wow...thansk for the qucik reply....

ok, on this page: www.YPTusa.com/willsjournal, on the right hand side, under
the photo, i have a 'quick links' box. i would like to hyperlink each date
and have it go right to the particular layer that has that days entry. does
that make snse?

thanks murray.

What you might look at is the "layers and behaviors" in FrontPage 2003 and
Expression Web.
you can do an "onclick" behavior of "set layer text". therefore you could
have a div to the left of that quick link box, and as people click the
different titles, you can swap the text within the div that contains the
individual listings.

Well, you need something to change the text within.
I think <div> in the classic sense was the wrong wording.
in the layers and behaviors pane; Insert "layer" (just set your insertion
point where you want it to appear).

This is going to take a little tweaking but it will eventually work if you
stay on it.

ok i think i am starting to get what you mean. FP is realtiveky new to me but
i am a fast/anxious learner.

but let me explain it this way to be sure you undertand waht i want to do....

i have seen on more than a few websites...on a FAQ page...the questions are
listed at the top and the answers are lower on the page. if you click on the
hyperlinked question it automaticaly drops you to the answer. i know it can
be done i just dont if it can be done in FP.

thanks for your time chris.....you have given more than your fair share.

OH!!
that's just bookmarks and hyperlinks to bookmarks.
in your case you'd highlight say the date of one of your listings and hit:
insert/ bookmark
then, highlight your text you want to throw people to that bookmark and
right click and hit "hyperlink". on the far left of the hyperlink dialog
box click "place in this document" and complete the dialog.

That's a real easy way to go. not as "slick" as the layers and whatnot, but
super easy.
