Hi all Im using norton 360 for virus protection, I was using before that
norton internet security 2005 and the good thing about the 2005 was that if
I wanted to leave my pc I could right click one of the icons in the task bar
and select "block all content" or something like that. I think it stoped all
and any data by blocking all the ports. norton 360 dosnt have this is it
possable to download a progie for this reason?

Thanks

For home/personal use, there are at least 3 FREE solutions:

1. Avira Antivir (I am using this one)
2. AVG Free
3. Avast Home

4. Rising Anti-virus (not sure about this one's quality and speed)

Are you sure? Most firewall programs have a block all traffic function.
Failing that, you can always right click on the adapter icon and disable it.

Why not just disable the LAN connectoid? Go into Control Panel ->
Network Connections -> LAN connection. Right-click on the LAN
connectoid shortcut and select Disable (or Enable). You could even drag
the Control Panel applet as a button to a toolbar in the Windows
taskbar. Then you just right-click and select Disable or Enable.

If you are using a 3rd party firewall, the ones that I've tried had a
context menu option for its tray icon to disable the network connection.
You might also want to check if the 3rd party firewall has a
configurable option to disable the network if the firewall program has
not started (to prevent a window of opportunity during Windows load
before the firewall can control network traffic) or if something
attempts to kill the firewall (which results in the malware killing its
ability to make connections, too).
