so what the scoop should i install it now or wait till it's out of beta. is
it ever going to be out of beta beeings it is now sold in the store as part
of windows live one care. so anyone have a answer is it ever going to be not
a beta.

Waiting only 6 hours for an answer is not very long in this world!

All indications from what I have read is that this program WILL eventually
become a separate available free stand-alone non-beta program some
unspecified time in the future.

What was that about the system32 folder?

well last time i put this on my computer after a reboot it poped up my hidden
system 32 folder all the time i did a uninstall and a system restore to fix
the issue. dose it still do that or is it fixed.

This isn't something I can remember having seen posted here. Having a
specific folder open when you start Windows is a Windows issue--not
something associated with Windows Defender, particularly--and there's a fix
for that issue.

I'd do a new download and try reinstalling and see whether the same thing
happens. If it does, please post in a new thread, with a clear description
of just what happens.

ok bill will do that sometime today i did redo my windows last month a whole
new install. anyways it did happen when i installed defender not sure why
though was kinda strange. also how stable is defender before i actualy do an
install? i dont want somethign that will mess my comp up and caus me to have
to do a complet reload.

Defender is extremely stable--I've seen some posts that indicate incomplete
installs which are a bit flakey--so I'd recommend disabling real-time
protection from your antivirus during the install (which takes only a few
minutes at most)--but about the worst I've seen is some folks find it a CPU
hog. This seems to be very individual--I've got it on PII-300 machines with
no problems--so there seems to be some specific issue--not just the program
itself and the basic speed of the system.
