Is this Beta? Won't work with Trend Micro! Why?

I tried to install the latest version of Zone Alarm Pro, and I get
incompatibility issues with Trend Micro. For years I have run Trend Micro's
PC-Cillin with Zone Alarm Pro. Now they won't work together? What's going on
here?
 
I think I now know why the new Zone Alarm Pro will not work with Norton,
McAfee, or Trend Micro. Zone Labs has developed their own new Internet
Security program, and they are trying to force us to buy it, instead of
their competitors!

Why would they not give it away free to their present subscribers of Zone
Alarm Pro? Are they getting money hungry like Microsoft?

This is not the way to increase business! I guess McAfee, Norton, EZ-Trust,
Outpost Pro, and Trend Micro are all looking better now!

Which version did you download......and was it from within the program?
Version 5 just came out and there are different flavours. See the
following.......

I haven't checked my 4.5.xxx but I never download the latest due to bugs
that are not ironed out yet......IMHO.

The version was downloaded from within Zone Alarm Pro and it is 50.590.015 .
As previously said, I don't like this practise of forcing subscribers to
subscribe to a new product at a cost prior to my present subscription
expiring. Reminds me of Microsoft's tactics.
 
I don't update very often......used 2.6.362 up till a couple of months ago.
Worked just fine. I haven't checked to see what it will cost, but I will
stay with 4.5.538 for a while.

Just read that Zone Alarm AntiVirus program is licienced from Computer
Assoc. the eTrust EZ program. I solved the incompatatility problem. I
uninstalled Zone Alarm and installed Kerio Personal Firewall 4.0. Everything
works just fine.

I am using the latest free version of ZA (5.0.590.015) with NortonSW2003Pro
and it is working just fine.
I did disable Norton Auto-Protect before installing ZA and I uninstalled the
previous version of ZA also.

Just to add that I am using Win98SE.
