Is this an IE6 problem or could it be something else?

I have recently joined a few new forums for on thing and another. Most of
these have required a STRING to be entered for verification. Once registered
I immediately check my email and reply to the ACTIVATION email.
This is where the problem usually occurs and one of two things will happen.

1. After activating the account I can log in but not post
2. After activating the account I can't log in or anything

In both cases I will be shown as NEWEST registered user at the bottom of
index page though usually.

Normally I have been sending emails to support who take varying time spans
to reply but it is now starting to get on my BLEEP BLEEP BLEEP!!!! GGGRRRRR

Any ideas guys?

Maybe you have cookies disabled?
 
Have checked and Privacy setting is Medium with Override Automatic Cookie
Handling UNCHECKED.
