is this all I need to do?

I've had a brain dump (not an infrequent occurrence, unfortunately), and
can't remember what to do.

I just put an Ethernet card in my desktop pc, and installed the necessary
drivers.

Is my next step hooking the pc up to my 4 port hub/router for DSL
(hub/router goes to hi-speed DSL modem; hi-speed DSL modem goes to phone
line) and call up IE and go online?

Or, do I need to take some intermediate step to make some control settings?
I think all the LAN and Internet Options stuff is on default.

Try setting the IP settings of your adapter to "Automatically obtain
an address". And if you can think of a meaningful Subject line for
your next post then you might attract the best experts straight
away. "How to configure a new network adapter" sounds nice
and easy.

Thanks for the info. Good suggestion on subject line, too. My gourd is
sluggish today, for some reason.
