You'll neva walk alone!

I have a WIN XP with SP2 installed.
Now i repaired my Os using the XP cd and after that i found this
stange device under sound video and game controllers: MusCDriverV32
is this some kind of virus?
i have avast installed on my pc... it didnt detect.
PC performance is fine no problem with that, but still to be on a
safer side.

thanks

Hard to say. Google is your friend. You could also search for the file
and check the version tab under properties of the file. That can be a
fair indicator. Also, try moving the file to another location and see
if it re-appears. That would tell you something naughty is on your
computer also.

thanks, but now i tried that too... googling doesnt help me... it
shows links where ppl say this a virus and links where they say its
not!

hi there,
i'm over with the above problem. but now m facing with a new one, i
just installed ie7(or you can say update ie6) one thing is i cant
change my home page, i have to go to regedit and update it. secondly i
cant download anything in ie7 it gives me a error saying the your
current security setting do not allow to dowload this file....
i checked my security settings its medium, secondly i tried
downloading all kinds of files from my email, dowload sites etc but
still the same result...
win XP with SP2.
i have avg 8.0 installed and scanned for virus but no virus found
there too! the funny thing is i can dowload from FF2. i know thats a
good way... but y is the IE throwing these problems?

Well, to be honest, most of those links aren't necessarily pointing at
MusCDriverV32. They're HijackThis logs which just happen to have
MusCDriverV32 in their list.

The only link where there seemed to be a real concern over this file was
the one where it had registered itself many times as a soundcard driver
file.

Unless you're really concerned that your computer is misbehaving then
chances are this file is ok.

Btw did you check the version information to find out who owns the file?

exactly this driver is installed at least 4 times! i ran a avg check
nothing detected!
