Is this a save setup?

512 MB Graphics card along with 1 HDD and 1 DVD-RW using a fairly low 300
watt PSU, I am getting a new case with a 500 watt PSU on Monday but have
noticed my current case gets a little hot is this normal?

I have heard that graphics cards can give off a lot of heat I currently have
a fan on CPU one on G-Card and one in PSU.

It might get warm, if in a warm room, but not what I would call "hot". Most
likely, you need another case fan. The power supply fan will cool the case
somewhat, but if your case is hot, you have insufficient cooling. -Dave
 
Your not telling us what your temps are....a "little" hot to you could be
hotter than hell to me and really cool to someone else.
The ambient room temp has a lot to do with how "hot" your system will
run..if your room temp is 25 celsius your case temp will definitly be warmer
than that.
Hopefully that new case will have case fans in the front low intake and hi
back exhaust.......this configuration is normal for most Intel and AMD based
setups.
Even specific pieces of Hardware give off various amounts of heat...an older
video card will give off less heat than one of the newer ones.....certain
mobo chipsets give off a tremendous amount of heat others do not.
So you see there are a lot of variances .......and by supplying the hardware
that you have a better judgement could be made about wether you are running
too hot.

The PSU fan likely exhausts the air out the top back of the [tower] case. You
should also have an intake fan, ideally blowing across the HD cage at the
bottom front.
 
Obviously the case itself has to have fans to intake and exhaust air to
maintain a safe temperature zone for your components.

So-called wattage means almost nothing, unless it's from a reliable
maker.
