Hi,
Ive put together a new system, mostly new parts, some old. Ive tried
to install win xp and it has crashed to blue screen at various points
before successful installation. Can someone tell me if these items are
Win Xp compliant?
Pioneer CD DVD 116
Western Digital Caviar WD800BB-00CA0 80 Gig (I have two of these set
up in RAID 0)

Thanks

Not very much information...Did you load the raid drivers when
the f6 prompt appeared in the beginning of the install.....

Yes I did load the drivers at the F6 prompt. I cant use the MS XP
testing software because this isnt a working system, I just want to
know if anyone has gotten an XP system working with the Pioneer CD DVD
116 or the Western Digital Caviar WD800BB-00CA0 80 Gig (as raid 0)

The hard drives are OK but you don't state what the raid controller is. If
the raid controller is not functioning you will not get the system up and
running. Are the raid drivers the latest from the web site of the raid card
manufacturer? The hard drives must have the Master/Slave jumpers set
properly according to the raid controller's and HDD manufacturer's
specifications.

The Pioneer DVD drive can not be on the Raid controller. It must be on it's
own IDE controller (on the motherboard) and the Master/Slave jumper needs to
be set properly.
